  1.     The molecules of a liquid tend to stick 
  2. together. This attractive force between the 
  3. molecules causes surface tension. The 
  4. molecules on the surface are pulled toward 
  5. the body of the liquid, resulting in a 
  6. shrinking of the surface. The surface 
  7. now appears to be a sort of skin, allowing, 
  8. for example, a glass to be filled to a height 
  9. slightly greater than the actual height of 
  10. the glass.
